((OOC: One core aspect of our campaign is that we hope to have the players involved with the re-building of the city itself.  As such, expect this entry to be edited or replies added as changes occur!))

The town of Weirdale: Once a sprawling city, the local tavern even includes a painting of the city at its apex, of obvious prosperity, but the painting seems old.  Chosen for the supposed powerful magical ley lines that all centralize at the mysterious temple at its center, which is currently off limits to the slowly growing adventurer populace, the town is otherwise cozy, if relatively deserted before the adventurers begin to arrive.

The vortex gate is erected on the slight outskirts of the city limits, in a peaceful grove to allow for the first impressions of the area to be as least jarring as possible to the newcoming adventurer.  The path leading into town square is welcoming and helpful to acquaint a new adventurer to their new home, with the mysterious tower in the distance, and the town square opening up in welcome.

The town square itself, however, is relatively bare, given the size and potential.  There are signs over a few buildings where it seems a revival of the city itself has recently been kindled.  The following buildings are currently available and visibly in use:

-One building is clearly a tavern and inn, and the sign hanging over the door says "The Verdict," with a picture of a gavel rested on its side.

-Another, large building, rather important looking, perhaps once a town hall, has a ring of twelve different sigils on a makeshift, but still impressive placard.  It appears to have been made into a temple of some kind.

-There is a building with flowers arranged outside it, with warm smells, both medicinal and delicious coming from it.  It appears to be a well loved place of solace and healing.  The only sign for this establishment is a prominently featured "EVERYONE IS WELCOME" above the door.

Here is the painting presented in the Verdict inn and Tavern!

((OOC: See? Place is already expanding!))

-Some brave shopkeepers and entrepreneurs have ventured into the city, screened upon arrival by the pantheon against evil intent.  This is in place largely to make available the day-to-day function of a living city, and to answer "where did my starting gear come from" in D&D.

-A large humanoid wolf has apparently taken up the task of being the city's blacksmith for the time being!
